The proposed model / Explained

How UNIO works.

The idea is to make a business work for the people who make it successful.

Customers spend money. Workers provide services. Businesses use revenue to operate, pay costs and develop. UNIO proposes to change how any resulting distributable profit is allocated.

One economic cycle

  1. People choose to participate. Customers purchase products or services offered within a future UNIO ecosystem.
  2. Work creates value. Workers deliver services and receive wages for their work.
  3. Revenue covers costs. Operations, salaries, suppliers, taxes and necessary reinvestment come before any profit distribution.
  4. Qualifying profit may be shared. If a business generates distributable profit, UNIO intends to allocate it among eligible participating customers and workers under transparent rules.
  5. Participation strengthens the system. Better services can attract further participation and create capacity to expand.

The proposed 50/50 allocation

The model being explored assigns 50% of distributable profit to participating customers, proportionate to their qualifying spending, and 50% to workers, proportionate to qualifying hours worked. Wages are separate from any profit-sharing allocation.

Illustration only — not a forecast

Suppose a future participating business has £20,000 of distributable profit under its agreed rules.

£10,000 would be allocated to eligible customers and £10,000 to eligible workers.

A customer responsible for 1% of qualifying customer spending would receive 1% of the customer pool: £100. A worker responsible for 1% of qualifying workforce hours would receive 1% of the worker pool: £100.

These numbers only illustrate the arithmetic. They do not establish that any distributions exist, that all purchases or hours qualify, or that a future business will be profitable.

What happens to the rest of the money?

Revenue is not the same as profit. Running a business requires paying for products, suppliers, premises, technology, wages, taxes and other costs. The proposed distribution concerns only the amount defined as distributable profit after applicable obligations and agreed reserves or reinvestment.

What about the founder?

UNIO's founding principle is non-extraction: ownership alone should not entitle the founder to withdraw profits for personal use. Pay for genuine work performed is a separate question. The intention is to make the system financially sustainable while directing the benefit of its success towards participants.

Is this operating today?

No. UNIO is being developed. Its legal structure, eligibility rules, accounting methods, distribution schedule and participating services still need to be established. There is currently no membership entitlement or guaranteed profit share offered through this website.

UNIO is an initiative in development. Descriptions of future operations are proposals, not current entitlements or guaranteed returns.
